EXCITING NEWS!!!!

We have some exciting news to make of an opportunity we are taking in our family.

It turns out that baby making isn't as easy as your eighth-grade health teacher said it was. Because of this we have made the decision to find that piece of our family through adoption. We have already concluded much of the process which includes filling out forms, taking physicals, surrendering our financials, answering tough questions, background checks, home visits, and so forth. We are happy to announce we have finally been approved for adoption.

Over the last four years we have fasted, prayed, and done everything in our power to start a family. Our loving Father in Heaven has not permitted such a blessing to come into our family. Much heartache and frustration has been present as we have struggled to understand His plan for us and what is required. Like many other trials the Lord has shown us His gentle mercy by making the worst thing become the best thing. We are now blessed to be apart of the adoption process and allowing our child to come into our life through a different path.

How can you help?
I thought you would never ask!!! Unfortunately there is no "due date" for when the adoption will happen. It can be a few months or a few years before a birth mother chooses to place a child in our home. Any time someone is searching for something in life (religion, employment, or a good mechanic) networking is usually most effective. This might be done in the following ways:

  • Making mention or placing a link to our adoption blog on your family's blog/website.
  • Requesting pass-along cards from us that you can share with others.
  • Simply remembering us if you encounter a pregnant mother that is considering adoption.

We realize we are asking a lot but would love to have you be apart of this special experience that we will remember forever.

Adoption is something many aren't familiar with and we know there are a lot of question and it may feel awkward to ask us. We honestly don't mind questions and encourage you to ask.

Most of all we ask you keep us in your prayers as we embark in this journey. He is the answer to all and our deepest desire is to submit to His will.

Love,

Kurt and Alanna Francom

Paint, paint and more paint

This summer and fall (yes it took that long) we did some more painting on our house. It was lots of  work but I'm loving the changes. Kurt told me that our home is feeling even more and more a home.

We painted just one wall in the from room blue (I need a new camera so it looks even bluer in person)
Brand: Behr  Color: Cloudy Day (So I can remember and you can copy if you like it)

We painted the 1st Bath Brand: Behr Color: Porpoise

Second Bedroom Brand: Behr Color: Dolphin Fin

Master Bath Brand: Behr Color: Gentle Rain

The hardest part was that we painted all the trim ceilings and doors from off white to white
(it made all the different though)

LUCHA LIBRE!!!

(This post should be read in a Mexican accent in order to maintain the theme...thank you for your participation)

Halloween is a big deal around my office. Usually my department is the party pooper in the bunch and never dresses up. But this year we decided to go big or go home!!! We had our sights set on the first place prize. After much brain storming we decided that the department was going to Libre the Lucha!!! What is Lucha Libre you ask? Learn more here.

Here you will see your everyday superhero. His name is NingXia Azul (inside joke that really isn't funny). The cape is custom made. I bought the gray tanktop at the local DI. The tights belong to Alanna (now show owns stretched-out tights), and the colored briefs were bought the night before at Shopko.

Don't mess with this tag-team duo!!! We will break you!

Wings give you super powers...

Muscles were obviously in abundance...

Even the Lucha Libre deserve a good Christmas...

And now you will see what happened to those that dared approach the Lucha Libre

I am sure it doesn't surprise you that we took home the first place prize.

Fourth of July 2010!!!

This year we went to Idaho for the 4th of July. Idaho Falls has the best firework show ever. Even Kurt agrees.

In the car off to see the fireworks(brother Nathan in background)

But, before the fireworks we went to Edwards Theater and watch Eclipse. The Theater really is Edwards Theater as you can see in the photo below. Although the theater was named prior to the vampire Edward even existing.

ahhhh Darci loves me. hugs

Missouri, Carthage and NAUVOO

Toward the end of April we took a little trip! Kurt was traveling for work to St Louis, Missouri. So Kurt took me along and we did some church site seeing. I know, it has taken me a whole month to write this post. I've been busy doing a few project. One of them being that I am trying to learn how to use photo shop and edit pictures. So far I have learned a few things. These pictures I kinda practiced with. So stay tuned for future posts hopefully you will see some gorgeous pictures! If I don't get too overwhelmed learning. Enjoy!
The Nauvoo Temple

I love the light fixtures

Day 1: Friday, April 23rd
Kurt picked me up from work and we went straight to the airport for 5:00pm flight. Kurt's co-worker Russ and his wife Mindy met us there. Mindy and I got to fly First Class while our husbands sat in coach. It was pretty sweet.

Day 2: Saturday, April 24th
Mindy and I relaxed in St Louis while our husband worked. We did a little shopping and as soon as Mindy and I walked into the hotel it started pouring rain sideways because it was so windy. It was the biggest storm I had ever seen. I got some video of it. The tornado sirens went off and there was tornado warnings for a couple hours.

Kurt and Russ busy at work.

Day 3: Sunday, April 25th
We attended church and went to the Gateway Arch. Then drove up to Carthage

Took a tour of Carthage Jail. It was a great experience

Saturday Trip to the Oquirrh Mountian Temple

My little brother Jared just turned 12 in October. Ever since then we have wanted to take a temple trip. Along with my Sis Nicole just returning from her mission in Feb and having lots of family names to do. My family came to Utah and we went and did baptisms last Sat.

Jared First Temple Trip

The Guys

It was a really cool experience to ALL be at the temple together doing work for our ancestors. I a so grateful to my younger siblings that they are all worthy to enter to temple. I encourage them to always hold a temple recommend it is sure a great accomplishment. We are very blessed.

Then we went and ate at Tucanos at the Gateway! Yummy!

Lee Ward High Priest Social!!!

We all know it is common knowledge that if you are looking for a good time just get a bunch of High Priest together and you will have instant delight. So that is just what we did.

I have such an awesome opportunity to serve around the High Priests in my ward. Out of any calling I have had this one has been the most unique. I truly feel like I sit among wisdom each Sunday as I get the chance to learn from each of them.We decided to put on a High Priest Social since we haven't had one since I have been in the ward. Luckily it doesn't take too much to impress a bunch of high priests as long as you have good food present.

Check out these party animals!!!
As you can tell they are really getting out of control!!!

SOMEBODY CALL THE POLICE!!!

Even the kids had a good time!

After we had a top-tier potato bar (yes, they were authentic Idaho potatoes) we all gathered around and shared pictures from our life. This was the best part! It was awesome to see the diverse backgrounds each one of us has and still see the gospel influence each of us throughout our life.

I appreciate everyone who played a role in making this a wonderful activity. I look forward to the next High Priest Social.
