Our Christmas

The night before Christmas is just as fun as Christmas day. We had a Christmas Eve dinner with all of Kurt's siblings and there families. Even though Kurt's mom gone to Mongolia we pulled off a pretty good dinner but still was not the same. I made a yummy holiday green salad, yams and Kurt made a pumpkin roll.

After dinner we played the candy bar game and did a white elephant gift exchange (my request cause I think its so fun). We talked with Kurt's parents online. It was Christmas morning in Mongolia. We opened the gifts they sent us. The coolest thing they sent was a  nativity in a ger made of camel hair. It will be so fun to have for the kids every Christmas. We got a few other small things including a cute little sheep hair clip for Devri

Christmas

Christmas day was nice and relaxing. Devri didn’t wake up till 9:30am (we wore her out!). Christmas morning was so fun because Devri was older and excited for Christmas. We got the whole thing on video! We had omelets for brunch with Kurts sibliings and spent the evening at home (the three of us) doing a puzzle and playing with Devri and her new toys!

Countdown till Christmas

The first week of Christmas...

This weeks happenings:
-I cleaned out Devri’s closet to make room for baby Taysom’s stuff!
-The countdown till Christmas starts. I got Kurt and most of Devri's Christmas purchased.
- We ate watermelon in December. Devri loves watermelon probably because I crave it when I’m pregnant and she had lots in the womb!
- The weather is so nice, we went for a walks with no coat.
- Friday night we went to Chad and Shelley’s ward Christmas party. Kurt did caricatures and Devri and I ate lots of food.
-Saturday we had a our ward Christmas breakfast (pictures!), then to a baptism with a luncheon, then we attended a dinner for a meeting Nicole did for work. our kitchen felt a little lonely this weekend. I was not complaining.:)

The second week of Christmas...

Monday, December 8th
For Family home evening we rode the Trax train downtown and saw the Christmas lights on Temple Square. When we told Devri we were going to ride a train she was so excited.

On our way to the lights on temple square we walked past the window display of giant Christmas ornaments made of candy.

Good thing we told Santa to bring a kitchen set for Christmas. Devri loves to play chef (even at the park.) Its a sunny and nice December day. We really don’t need coats.

Saturday, December 13th
Today We painted the kitchen and made candy houses with all the cousins. I’m getting things checked off my list before Christmas and the arrival of baby Taysom! I love my new kitchen!

Hope all of our friends are having a wonderful time of year.

November: football, swimming, family and Thanksgiving

Captions:

Devri all dressed up for one of the last BYU football games of the season.

Every first Sunday of the month we get together with Kurts siblings and have dinner. This month I was in charge of the main course. We had chilli!
Here is Devri and Faith  sitting at the table together.

One of our many trips to Costco! Costco has lots of toys out for the Christmas season. We saw this giant Minnie Mouse! Devri was quite amused by her.

We had a playdate with our friends to a indoor swimming pool. The lil girls loved it.

We are spending the weekend in Idaho and loving every minute. I’m so grateful for my family and my childhood home. My sister Brittany and I went on a long walk before dinner we were talking about how we love the smell of the outdoors at home. Its the smell of moist dirt with a slight hint of rotten potato. It smells so good!

October (Short and Sweet)!

Our October seemed short and sweet (same with November)! Thats ok. The faster time goes the closer we get to meeting baby Taysom (and being done being pregnant)! Here are some highlights for the rest of October!

Caption: Keshia, Conley, Corbin
and Caliah came to
Salt Lake to drop off Juan (there dad) at
the airport. We got to spend the day
together. We went to lunch with Nicole at Noodles and Company
and then we went to wheeler farm to look
at the farm animals!

Caption: Devri always  plays so well with Conley and Corbin.

Devri holds Conley’s hand. Conley is a good sport and goes along with it. Such a sassy girl.
Cousin love

Caption: This week Devri and I went up to Idaho. We picked and canned apples! Of course Devri spent time with her cousins Conley, Corbin and Caliah. On MOnday we went to the fancy nice park by there house. Wednesday was a long day in grandmas kitchen making apple sauce. I just love these pictures of the kids in the leaves.

We stayed in Idaho until Thursday. Darci open her mission call!!! I will never forget the look on her face as she read to us (in shock) St. George, Utah! She will be in the same state as me! Its strange that she will be so close but there will be a lot of benefits too. She will get awesome packages from us and the weather will be so nice in the winter.

Caption: Our little Devri Mae was Cruella De Vil for Halloween (per her dads request). Kurt bought some white fabric and I quickly sewed it into a little coat and candy bag. I think she turned out to be a pretty cute Cruella. fall carnival! Kurt was the caricature artist and I got to play with Devri. The only thing that she liked doing was playing on the bouncy house. She played on the bouncy house over and over again. On Halloween we went to our ward trunk or treat at the park by out house. Devri’s friend Ruby was a lil sheep. They are the cutest together.

7 Sweet Moments With Devri

So its easier to read here is the journaling...

In one month Devri will be 2 1/2 years old. Wha? There are a lot of things she does and says that I never want to forget. She is impressively smart. I  didn't realize that watching a little girl grow up could be so much fun!

1. Devri loves blankets
During the summer Devri has developed her vocabulary a lot and talks pretty well now! When she first started saying blanket she would pronounce it as “abeck”. We thought it was so cute. I wish I had a video of it! Recently she started pronouncing blanket the right way but I never want to forget her “abeck” phase

2. Devri loves to sing
Devri especially loves to sing during singing time in nursery and does all the actions. When we were in Sun Valley 2 weeks ago Devri and I were outside it was dark and we could see the stars. It was so quiet and peaceful. I drew Devri’s attention to the stars and she started singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. One of her favorites!

3."I Wuv Yew"
Devri is really good at showing us lots of love and affection. She loves to cuddle with me but often and lots of times randomly tells me she loves me. She says “I wuv yew”. Lets not forget sweet little kisses that we get all the time. I’m sure when her brother gets here she will show him lots of love too.

4. Devri says her prayers
From the time she was very little till now Devri has always been really good at saying prayers with us. She often reminds us at meal time to pray. Shes is so good at folding her arms. Recently (the past couple weeks) she voluntarily is speaking the prayer. She like to pray for baby Tace, Daddy, Mommy and Grandma and Grandpa.

5. Devri loves to watch movies and TV
Devri likes to watch Curious George, Daniel Tiger, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and a few others. Especially, after just getting back from Disneyland Devri has started watching a lot of movies. Her favorites are Lion King, Finding Nemo, Aristocats and Tangled (since we don’t have Frozen).

6. Devri loves to play with her baby dolls
Not sure if she quite understands that soon she will have her own baby brother to play with. She likes to be a little mom. Devri is very nurturing. She likes to push her dolls in the stroller, change there diapers, rock them, dress them and feed them. I could watch her all day!

7. Words Devri frequently says
Though she says lots of things these are a few of my favorites.
"oh great"
"oh sorry"
"Thank You"
"I like it"  "I don't like it"
"see you" "bye bye"
"clean up"
"foo" (food)
