Lake Powell (July 22nd-25th)

I don't remember the the last time we did as much driving as we did this week! We were everywhere! Working hard and playing harder.  I drove to Park City twice (to work). As a family we drove to Lake Powell and back to Salt Lake. Then the following day we headed to Idaho.

Because my brother has just gotten home from his mission my dad wanted to take him to Lake Powell and whoever could go. Grain harvest was starting soon so they wanted to get some fun in!

I wish I would have taken more higher quality pictures on this trip. Oh well. Instead of constantly having my camera in hand I was just enjoying Lake Powell!

Day 1

Kurt, Devri and I left Salt Lake to head to Lake Powell Tuesday at Noon. We got there just before the sunset. Grandpa Polatis (dad) picked us up at the dock and we rode in the fast boat to the house boat...

After we got to the houseboat it started to get dark. I made yummy taco salad for dinner and enjoyed each other's company.

Day 2

We had a good night sleeping out under the stars (on top of the houseboat).

We were parked on a great sandy beach. Devri and I sat out on the sand and played with her new sand toys. Devri loved going on the wave runners. She thought it was pretty fun. Grandpa took her on a tube ride...

  Day 3

Rainbow Bridge

I'm glad Devri was not on the hike to Rainbow Bridge it was long and hot!

Day 4 (last day)

We woke up earlier so we could get the house boat back to the marina and go home. I'm going to miss waking up to this.

Serene Sleep

While headed back to the marina at one point Kurt was driving the house boat. We saw a plane on the water. It was fun to see. A few minutes later we saw the plane start to take off and it was headed right for us!  Kurt turned the house boat to the left and the plane took off right beside our boat. If Kurt would not have turned the plane would have gone right over us!

We got back to the marina at noon. As soon as we got the houseboat to the dock to unload our luggage it got really windy and rainy. We had to stay put for awhile before we could park the house boat at the marina. Devri, Kurt and I went to the marina, took showers then headed home!

If I had a past life living as another creature I'm pretty sure I was an animal that lived in the water. Swimming is so refreshing I just love it. Swimming at Lake Powell is even more refreshing. It was kinda hard to leave. Before we got to the marina I made my dad stop the boat so that I could get in the water one last time! I think we got refreshed enough to return back to life.
