Ooooops!

Earlier this week I was making dinner for a friend(One of the only times that I cook). I made meat loaf and mashed potatoes. The meat loaf was done and sitting on the stove in my nice white casserole dish with my nice red dish towel over the top. I wanted to warm up some veggies and so I turned the burner on on the back of the stove (well at least I thought it was the back burner). Kurt and I ran out to take some stuff out to the car. When I came back in the house the fire alarm was going off and the dish towel that was on top of my precious meat loaf was on fire! Kurt came to the the rescue and threw the dish towel in the sink and put out the fire. It was a scary experience. Once the fire was out I was concerned about the food. Luckily it was not burnt, but, the casserole dish that it was in was ruined. Everyone makes mistake right? I will try to be more careful. I hope not too many people that live in the same condo building as us read this. :-)

I set our fire alarm off last night too.. but its cuz it was too smoky from cooking chicken and mopping with my steam mop!

Oh my! I think meat loaf is the most dangerous thing to cook. Last time I cooked it there was a lot of grease in the pan. When I pulled it out of the oven some spilled in the oven. A bunch of flames flared up. I was lucky not to have burned my face.

I guess meat loaf is an unlucky dish to cook.
