Our week June 22th-28th: Back to blogging, birthday, swimming, & family

Some of you know Kurt's parents have arrived in Mongolia a little over a week ago to serve a mission! We figured that the blog would be the best way to stay connected, share pictures and keep it all organized and documented. My parents also live a couple hours away so we thought it would be good for them to see more of our pictures as well. Here goes blogging again and the first blog post posted in over a year! Moms and Dads, this is for you!

We celebrated Kurt's birthday June 22 and it turned out to be a success! Kurt was very pleased. It started out with Nicole bringing pull aparts (cause she is the master at that stuff) for breakfast. Of course, they were delicious and I was grateful I didn't have to make breakfast since church was at 9:00 am.

Being Sunday and not having the option to go out to eat I needed to figure out how to make dinner extra special. I bought some steak and did some research. I have to say Kurt was impressed and I'm not going to lie I was super proud at the way it turned out. Being someone that rarely ever eats meat I had a few bites (yes, I ate red meat). It was good. If you want to know how to make a good steak, ask me.

We asked a few close neighbor friends to come have dessert at the park by our home. Again, Nicole came through with her master baking skills and made Kurt's favorite peach cobbler. What would I do without my sister Nicole?

After the peach cobbler and root beer floats Kurt's brother's family Scott and Melissa made a surprise visit. It was so fun to have them we found ourself in a game of Red Rover (the last time I played I was in grade school).

Grandma Francom, I cropped this cute pic of Devri and Faith just for you!

Monday morning we went swimming with our friends at the HOA pool. We go swimming at the pool probably weekly. Devri gets braver each time. This particular time Devri jumped in the pool without holding on to my hand. Last week she would only jump in if she could hold on to me. I was quite surprised. Got it on video! All the people in the background are our friends the Hulsberg's, Welsh's, Floyd's and Larsen's.

Monday night Kurt and I went to the Bees Game. We got invited by a friend that Kurt works with. It was a BNI event to network with others. We got to go to the top of the stadium to what they call "picnic" and eat some food. I got into the game when we went back and sat in the seats. I think we may have to try another bees game sometime soon and take Devri.

Sad crazy story... Devri was at Nicole's while we were at the game. Since it was late when we got back Nicole said Devri could sleep over at her condo. Its a good thing that we live with in walking distance of Nicole. At 2:30 am Nicole called with a upset toddler in the background. Devri missed me too much and we had to go pick her up. I was quite surprised that she was that upset. When we got to Nicole's Devri had stopped crying but only because she put her shoes on and told her I was coming. Bitter sweet!

The next day I helped a neighbor and babysat all day. Because of a late night, adventure in the middle of the night and early morning watching kids. I was tired!
Tuesday evening my mom, sister Keshia and her baby Caliah came by. They where in town to attend Young Living Convention at the Salt Palace. We got a hang out with them Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings and then said our goodbyes on Friday morning.
Devri could not get enough of baby Caliah. I love this picture cause I think Devri look like me!

Caliah is so photogenic

With the week being eventful, thankfully, the weekend was a little more laid back. We got caught up on things and had a little R&R.

Loves,

Alanna
