Home Is Feeling a Little More Like Home... Before and After Pics!

We have lived in River Run Condos in South Salt Lake City for 1 year and 3 months now. Wow! Before we moved in we had a hard time finding just the right placed and searched for almost 3 months. But, the way that everything worked out I know that we were lead to were we are ment to be. We have tons of friend in our little community and I love it! Especially, when we go to the pool and feel like we are at a ward party.

Our little place was known for our dark brown walls. Well, i finally painted over them last month! Home feels more like home a little more each day. Although, we still are not done. Since we just painted we still have to get more wall decor and color into the room. But, here is what we have done so far.

This is me pasting on the venetian plaster that we put over this wall. It gave it a little more texture it looks really great! You can't really see it in the pictures very well. So you all will have to come over and see it. Oh... and by the way we are having another tragedy in our family the digital camera that Kurt gave me just before we got married is dying. See how fuzzy the picture is. Soon Kurt will probably post the cameras obituary like he did for our computer in February. Here are a few more pictures of our house....This will be the babies room someday and the next room to paint.

The Family... World Traveling...

My sister(Alanna's Sister) Nicole got her mission call! She actually got it two weeks ago but it takes me awhile to post. She will be serving in....

Charleston, West Virgina

She is excited! She will be leaving July 23rd. This has been a fun experience since she is my first sibling to serve a mission. Its also kinda crazy knowing that she will be gone for a year and a half. We will miss her since she has been living in Provo close to us. A part of me kind of envies her for getting this experience. Kurt, teasing, tells me that it would be too hard for me which I agree. But, being able to dedicate 18 months to the Lord immersing yourself in serving, scriptures, the gospel and nothing else would be totally worth it.

We had so much fun! My family came down from Idaho and we met them at the Salt Lake Temple. There Nicole anxiously opened her call on the steps. It will probably be a day that she will never forget!

In the picture: Mom, Dad, Alanna, Kurt,
Nicole, Keshia, Brittany, Nathan, Darci, Jared

This event was not the only one we were celebrating. The next morning my sister Keshia was going to fly out from the Salt Lake airport to go to Ecuador. She volunteered to go work in orphanages there for two and a half months. She has already been there for two weeks and so far I have gotten three emails fro
m her and talked to her once on the phone. She is having such a great time. I'm sure it's crazy at times but, she also gets to go on field trips, shopping, and touring. Plus she says they have heavenly ice cream. She loves the kids so much and has totally immersed herself into serving them.

After we opened Nicole's call we went to the Gateway and ate at California Pizza Kitchen. It was my first time eating there it was so good. I love there salads. Here is a picture of Kurt and I sharing my Strawberry Lemonade.

(As always he always has to pull a goofy face!)

That same week was the weekend that we went to Vegas! We went there cause we had a meeting to go to for Networth Solutions. We had a great time! I actually skipped out on the meeting and laid by the pool because our time there was short and the warm weather was so nice! The sunburn was OK after the first couple days and now at least I have a little color.:-)

Las Vegas.....ug

We drove all the way to Vegas and this is the only photo that we came back with....lame eh? As you can see my wife is seeing how quickly she can get herself to skin cancer. Sometimes the temptation to get a tan is just too strong to fight.

Hi...my name is Kurt...as many of you know. I thought I would post a couple of pictures that we haven't gotten around to posting. By the way...is it just me or is that girl eating spaghetti staring me down?
This is Alanna's birthday cake that I made. Well at least I made the phone call to order the cake so that someone could make it. Close enough. This is the chair that I got her for her birthday. Lillie says it's comfy!

Here you have it!!!

So my wife told me like two months ago that I have to fill this thing out about her and put it on our blog.... to tell you the truth I hate these things so if anyone wants to consider "tagging" me in the future...just consider how you will fill when you can't drive to work on slashed tires. Definitely not me.

Who kissed who first?
Of course I made the move...what do you think I am?

She is part of the Polatoes colony of 7 children....sheesh. What ? Are you Mormon or something?

10 Years Ago:
~I was 14 years old. Wow a lot has happened in ten years!
~My mom Just had my little brother Jared. He was like three months old.
~I could not wait to drive(In Idaho you can drive when you are 15). Seriously I was obsessed I could not wait. I wanted to drive and take all my sisters shopping.
~I wanted to go to Beauty School when I grew up. I loved to do hair.
~I went to a private school.
~I hung out with friends Amanda Cobbley, Elizabeth Whyte, Katie Stander.
~I was in piano Lessons and had been for 5 years. I was preparing for music festival.
The only reason I remember all this stuff is cause I pulled out my journal. I wish that I could just copy and paste some of the entries that I wrote. It's so funny! But, I won't make you read all of that. It's so hilarious though!
~I talked about disliking my sister Nicole so much but wished that she would keep secrets with me and that we were close. The drama growing up with 5 sisters.
~Email was my life and me and my friend Amanda would email each other all the time. The internet was very new and I thought it was so cool. It still is.
~Starting to think about liking boys.

On My To-Do List: read my scriptures, get taxes finished, Submit Lia Sophia Show (It was a big one!), go to the beauty supply store, drill holes in my necklace display boards for earrings, get a ladder to change light bulbs (the ceilings to high), make a bizillion phone calls, call YW girls and make sure they remember personal progress books.

Before I die: Have 6 kids, be a millionaire momma, surf (I've never been) what don't I want to do!

places that I've lived: Blackfoot, Idaho ~ Rexburg, Idaho ~ Salt Lake City, UT

Jobs I have had: Potato Truck Driver( I will post pics to prove it), Tractor Driver (big ones), pipe mover, hoeing beets, sewing at Murdock Apperal, cashier at the church distribution center, Massage Therapist in Park City(Current), on the side Lia Sophia adviser (Current), Certified Trainer with Kurt at Networth Solutions (current), Kurts Wife (current and permanent). Dream job: A Mom!

What I will do when I became a billionaire: Go shopping a lot more then I do now. Buy tonz of cute stuff for my kids. Pay someone to help clean my house. I don't want a gigantic house but a spacious nice new comfortable house. Fairly large yard. Most important, have no worries and be able to focus on what it really important family, church, and others.

Bad habits: Forgetfulness, forgetting to close the lid on my shampoo bottles, leaving clothes on the floor, losing my keys, just not thinking sometimes. (Kurt is nodding his head and smiling when he reads this)

Things I enjoy: Spending recreational time with family, vacations, getting massages, getting a big box from the UPS man full of LS jewelry, organizing my house.

Things people don't know about me: Umm this is a hard one. Most people that didn't grow up with me don't know this: I went to a private school for 6 years. I had chronic fatigue syndrome when I was in third grade. I graduated from high school but was never in the 11th grade.

Ok, so here is where I tag other people... I tag Kurt, Katie Simmonson, Courtney Belliston.
